Privacy Policy

How we handle the information you give us, plainly stated. We collect what we need to do the work, we do not sell it, and we use analytics that does not track you.

This policy explains what we collect through this website, why we collect it, and the choices you have. If anything here is unclear, call us at (916) 769-2116 and ask.

01What this policy covers

DHS Plumbing is a licensed plumbing and sewer company based in Fair Oaks, California, serving Sacramento, Placer, and El Dorado counties. This policy covers information collected through this website, including the booking form, the newsletter signup, the referral program, and the Dispatch chat assistant.

It does not cover information you give a technician in person, over the phone, or in a signed estimate or work order. Those are handled directly by our office.

02Information we collect

We collect what we need to answer you and do the work. Nothing on this site requires an account.

Contact and job details
Your name, phone number, email, service address, preferred appointment window, and a short description of the problem, when you submit the booking or contact form.
Uploaded photos
Optional photos of the unit or the leak, up to five files and 10MB total. We strip location data from images on upload and store them in file storage, not in a public place.
Referral details
If you refer a neighbor, we collect your name and email, the person's first name, and their phone or email. You confirm the person agreed to be contacted before you send it. We do not contact people who have not agreed to hear from us.
Newsletter signup
Your email, and optionally your phone number if you ask for text reminders. Text consent is separate and you can reply STOP at any time.
Chat messages
What you type into the Dispatch assistant during a visit. Dispatch is automated, runs in your browser, and does not ask for payment details. The conversation is not saved after you leave the page.
Usage data
Aggregate, non-identifying analytics such as which pages are viewed and on what kind of device. This is cookieless and is not tied to you. See Analytics and cookies.

03How we use it

  • To answer your question and call you back, usually within two hours during business hours.
  • To schedule a visit, dispatch a technician, and give you an estimate.
  • To confirm you are inside our service area.
  • To run the referral program and pay out referrals that qualify.
  • To send the newsletter and text reminders you asked for, and nothing you did not.
  • To keep records we are required to keep for permits, warranties, and tax.
  • To understand, in aggregate, which pages are useful so we can improve the site.

We do not use your information to build an advertising profile, and we do not feed it to ad networks.

04Analytics and cookies

Our analytics are cookieless by default. We use a privacy-first tool in the style of Plausible or Fathom that measures visits in aggregate without cookies, without cross-site tracking, and without building a profile of you. Because there are no tracking cookies, there is no consent banner to click through.

The full detail of what we store on your device, and what would change if we ever added a heavier analytics tool, is in the Cookie Policy.

05How we share it

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

We share information only with the service providers who help us run the business, and only so they can do that work for us. These include our scheduling and customer-records system, the provider that sends text reminders, and our website host. They are bound to use the information only for the service they provide.

We also disclose information when the law requires it, such as a valid legal request, or when it is needed to protect the safety of a person or property.

06Your California privacy rights

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the CPRA, California residents have the rights below. We honor these regardless of where you live.

  • Know and access. Ask what personal information we have collected about you and get a copy.
  • Delete. Ask us to delete information we collected from you, subject to records we are required to keep for warranties, permits, and tax.
  • Correct. Ask us to fix information that is wrong.
  • Opt out of sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of. You may still submit a request and we will confirm this in writing.
  • No retaliation. We will not deny service, change pricing, or treat you differently for using any of these rights.

To make a request, call (916) 769-2116 or email privacy@dhsplumbing.ca. We will verify your request by matching it to information we already hold, and we will respond within the timeframe the law allows. An authorized agent may submit a request on your behalf with your written permission.

07How long we keep it

We keep job records, estimates, and warranty information for as long as the warranty runs and as long as the law requires, then we dispose of them. Newsletter and text records last until you unsubscribe. Uploaded photos are kept with the job they belong to and removed when the record is closed out. Chat messages are not retained after your visit ends.

08Security

We use reasonable measures to protect information in transit and at rest, including encrypted connections and access limited to the people who need it. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so we do not claim it is. If a breach ever affects your information, we will notify you as the law requires.

09Children's privacy

This site is meant for homeowners and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will remove it.

10Changes to this policy

We update this policy when our practices change. When we do, we change the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will say so plainly rather than bury it. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the current version.
