A tankless unit is only as good as the gas line and venting behind it. We size the gas line for real household demand instead of installing to the minimum, so the unit holds temperature through back-to-back showers instead of running cold halfway through.

Annual descaling
Sacramento-area water runs hard. Mineral scale builds up inside a tankless heat exchanger and a tank's bottom over time, cutting efficiency and shortening lifespan if it's never flushed.

Anode rod check, tank units
The sacrificial anode rod protects the tank from corroding from the inside. Checking it during a service visit is what keeps a tank unit going years past when it would otherwise fail.
