Water bill climbing with no change in use
If your usage habits haven't changed but the bill has, that's the most common first sign homeowners notice.

A warm spot on the floor
On a hot water line leak, a patch of slab or flooring that's noticeably warmer than the rest of the room is a strong indicator.

The sound of running water with everything off
If you can hear water moving through the walls or under the floor with every fixture closed, something's leaking.

The water meter still moving with everything off
Shut off every fixture in the house and check the meter. If the dial or digital readout is still moving, there's a leak somewhere in the line.

Damp or discolored patches on the slab, wall, or ceiling
A stain that keeps returning after cleaning, or flooring that feels damp or has started to lift, often means water is moving underneath it.
How we find it
Thermal imaging and acoustic listening, before anyone picks up a shovel.
A thermal camera reads surface temperature differences, which shows up as a distinct warm or cool patch where water is moving somewhere it shouldn't. An acoustic sensor listens for the specific sound signature of pressurized water escaping through a pipe wall, and we can pinpoint the source along a line by comparing sound intensity at different points. Between the two, we can usually narrow a slab leak to a small area before any excavation happens.

Watch the meter once a season
Shutting off every fixture and checking whether the meter is still moving takes five minutes and catches a leak long before it shows up as damage.
